Wristbands to meet Disney Imagineer (and general theme park legend) Joe Rohde will be given out on first come, first serve basis Sunday with each sale of the special edition print he created to mark the 20th anniversary of Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Rohde, the lead designer of the park, will be there 1-4 p.m. to sign prints, which will be available at the Discovery Trading Company.
The park opens at 9 a.m. and it is expected that Rohde's artwork will be a popular draw and will sell quickly. (It's worth noting the print or its price has not yet been unveiled.)
The rest of the park's anniversary merch, something Disney leaders refer to as the "I Was There" collection, will likely also draw big crowds.
"With so much to explore at Disney's Animal Kingdom, we created a passport stamp graphic that captures the spirit of adventure found throughout the park," Cathy Dawson, merchandise product developer for special events, told the Disney Parks Blog.
Disney previously released general anniversary merchandise, but the limited release "I Was There" collection is something that will be available for purchase at the beginning Sunday at Discovery Trading Company. You can see some of what's available in the gallery below.
One specialty item, however, will require guests to venture a bit more into the park.
An all-new interactive banshee will released at the Rookery at Windtraders inside Pandora -- The World of Avatar on Sunday. The green and purple banshee was inspired by the moss-covered wall inside the park's newest land.
