Disney Parks donated $2 million to Make-A-Wish following a very successful #ShareYourEars campaign over the holidays.
The campaign, where people post photos of themselves in Disney ears using the previously mentioned hashtag, should have resulted in a donation of up to $1 million.
However, due to the popular demand of the campaign, Disney Parks doubled its original donation.
"Every year, nearly 9,000 Disney-related wishes are granted worldwide with Make-A-Wish, and with your support we can make even more happiness come true in the years to come," reads the Disney Parks Blog.
The first Disney wish from Make-A-Wish was granted in 1980. Since then, more than 120,000 wishes from the Disney/Wish combo have been granted to critically ill children, according to the Make-A-Wish website.
The massive donation means even more wishes will be granted for trips to Disney.
"Thanks to you, $2 million will help grant even more awe-inspiring wishes this year," reads the Make-A-Wish website. "We appreciate Disney and all of our supporters for participating in this year’s campaign to transform the lives of wish kids, their families and communities around the world!"
