Walt Disney World leaders have announced the film talent who will be part of next month's Star Wars Galactic Nights event at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
On Monday, Disney announced that none other than Warwick Davis, who launched his career playing Wicket the Ewok in "Return of the Jedi," will be part of the one-night only event.
Not only is Davis a fan favorite (having appeared in Orlando several times in the last few years for a variety of events), but he also makes sense to book. Davis will already be in town when Galactic Nights takes place Dec. 16. He is the Candlelight Processional narrator at Epcot Dec. 12-14.
Others scheduled to appear during the Star Wars special event include actor David Collins, who will host a special "Inside Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge" panel discussion that evening. The panel will feature members of the Walt Disney Imagineering and Lucasfilm team to discuss the new Star Wars land under construction at Hollywood Studios.
The panel includes Scott Trowbridge, Portfolio Creative Executive at Walt Disney Imagineering; Robin Reardon, Executive Creative Producer at Walt Disney Imagineering; Chris Beatty, Executive Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering and Doug Chiang, VP/Creative Director at Lucasfilm.
During the event (which costs about $129 to attend), the Sunset Boulevard area of the park will be transformed with state-of-the-art projections on the façade of the Hollywood Tower Hotel during the Star Wars: Galactic Destinations show.
Favorite film moments, special effects and lighting will be displayed all night as the Star Wars soundtrack plays along, according to Disney leaders.
Guests will be able to celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi (opening Christmas) around the park. According to Disney, Star Wars Launch Bay, Star Wars: Path of the Jedi and "Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular" fireworks show will all debut updates inspired by the new film.
The event runs 7 p.m. to midnight.
