Just last week, the Disney Parks Blog team released what items would be specially released and available for sale in Epcot on Oct. 1, the day of the park's 35th anniversary.
Keeping in line with similar opening day or anniversary merchandise, Disney leaders are relying heavily on the "I Was There" line with these specific swag options
“For this collection, we honored Epcot’s rich heritage by including Figment from the Journey Into Imagination attraction on all of the ‘I Was There’ items,” Cathy Dawson, merchandise product developer for events, told the Disney Parks Blog. “He’s been at the park since the early days of Epcot and has delighted many guests throughout the years. This retro-inspired collection complements the other 35th anniversary merchandise guests will find all year long.”
Similar to opening day merchandise found at Pandora -- The World of Avatar, this line of merchandise (7 items, to be specific) is expected to sell out quickly and is available first come, first served at the park on Sunday.
Items up for grabs include apparel for adults and kids, a hat, an ornament and a limited release pin. Annual Passholders also have a shirt available for purchase. Merch will be located in a pop-up shop located just past Art of Disney in Future World.
Walt Disney World leaders previously released what items would be sold at Epcot to celebrate the park turning the big 3-5. Other Epcot 35 merchandise, which will be available for purchase all year, can already be found inside the park. http://www.orlandoeveryday.com/news/epcot-anniversary-swag-coming-soon
