I guess you can put the kiss in Kissimmee.
The Gaylord Palms Resort is teaming up with Experience Kissimmee, Osceola County's tourism agency, to host "Kiss-Story in the Making," an event you will want to bring your lip balm for.
Gaylord Palms leaders are trying to set a Guinness World Records title for the most couples kissing under mistletoe in one location. The event will take place Thursday, Dec. 7, at 8:15 p.m.
"We are honored and excited to be a part of this memorable experience,” said DT Minich, President/CEO of Experience Kissimmee, in a news release. “There’s no better place to set a kissing record than right here in Kissimmee, Florida!”
Is it cheesy? Maybe a little. Is it kind of adorable? Definitely yes.
Couples (who must be at least 18 years old) are asked to register to participate in the event and, yes, it will cost you. The entry fee of $34.99, which doesn't include taxes and fees, not only includes participation in the special event, but it also gets admission for two to the event-exclusive ICE! experience and one voucher for self-parking.
It's worth noting that the price of admission for ICE! costs roughly $29 per adult.
"There seemed no better time to host a Guinness World Records title attempt as we present ICE! featuring Christmas Around the World this year, making special memories for our guests and STARS (hotel staff) during this magical season," said Johann Krieger, General Manager of Gaylord Palms.
The event, which is also includes Mentos as a partner, will take place beneath the Gaylord Palms' six-story Christmas tree in the St. Augustine atrium.
