The team at Gaylord Palms resort knows the popularity of its annual ICE! event is one of the main reasons guests come out to their property every holiday season.
That's why this year they've extended the ICE! theme, Christmas Around the World, to other all-new offerings at the resort, making Christmas at Gaylord Palms even better.
Per usual, ICE! is the clear crown jewel in the Gaylord Palms roster of activities, but this year's holiday offerings feel a bit different.
Instead of thinking going for ICE! is enough, resort leaders have made it clear you can spend the day exploring everything they have to offer at the gorgeous Kissimmee property.
Here's how Gaylord Palms incorporates this year's ICE! theme outside that chilly 9-degree tent:
Joyful This 12-minute light show explores how different countries celebrate the holidays. The show, which plays multiple times each night in the resort's atrium, highlight's the six-story Christmas tree with dancing lights and a musical score exclusive to Gaylord Palms. The show is impressive for all the senses. And, best of all, considering the tree's location, there's really not a bad seat to be found.
Christmas Tree Trail In the Everglades Atrium, the all-new trail displays nine trees decorated to match various countries. Countries like India, the United Kingdom, Italy and Brazil come to life in tree form with decorations to highlight what makes each country so unique and wonderful. (Editor's note: My favorite was the United Kingdom tree, which is decorated with red-and-blue ribbons and rose-patterned teacups)
Further tapping into the culture of each country, placards on display educated guests on how residents of each country wish each other a Merry Christmas. In Japan, for example you might here Meri Kurisumasu, while you'll get a Joyeux Noel in France.
Other new events to this year's Christmas at Gaylord Palms include an updated show for Cirque Dreams Unwrapped, the Reindeer Express Post Office, the Build-A-Bear Workshop Scavenger Hunt and the new Sounds of the Season Concert Series. (More on that series can be read here: http://www.orlandoeveryday.com/news/all-new-holiday-concert-series-announced-at-gaylord-palms-resort)
Returning holiday offerings this year include Breakfast with Charlie Brown & Friends, snow tubing, Santa's Snow Throw, the Gingerbread Decorating Corner, Mrs. Claus' Christmas Tradition and Alpine Village, the central hub for holiday happenings.
Christmas at Gaylord Palms officially opened today and can be enjoyed through Jan. 7.
