With the final curtain closing on "La Nouba" by Cirque du Soleil on New Year's Eve, Disney fans can rejoice in knowing that a new show is coming to fill that space, according to Disney leaders.
Disney leaders announced this week their relationship with the Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group isn't ending when the nearly 20-year run of "La Nouba" does. Instead, a new original show is in the works.
The show will "pay homage to Disney's rich history of animation, with a vivid story told in a way that only Cirque du Soleil can deliver," reads the Disney Parks Blog.
“We are incredibly inspired by Disney’s immense creative universe," said Daniel Lamarre, President and CEO of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group. "We are convinced that bringing Disney’s magic to life on stage will touch audiences and bring them back to their childhood.”
No official opening date has been announced.
