Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway will open at Disney's Hollywood Studios next year, according to Disney Parks leaders.
The new attraction, replaced the Great Movie Ride, is the first-ever Mickey Mouse-themed ride-through attraction.
Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, said the ride will include a new theme song created especially for riders, speaking to attendees at D23 Expo Japan this weekend. The ride was previously announced last summer during the D23 Expo in Anaheim, Calif.
The new "2.5D" Mickey & Minnie ride won't require 3D glasses, according to Disney leaders. It turns flat world art into a "dimensional display".
Per Disney, the ride begins with the premiere of a new cartoon short featuring Mickey and Minnie getting ready for a picnic.
"As they head out, they drive alongside a train and find out that the engineer is Goofy," reads the Disney Parks Blog. "Then, one magical moment lets you step into the movie and on Goofy's train for a wacky, wild ride."
