The new immersive Star Wars-inspired resort being built at Walt Disney World will be connected to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
The resort, part of the new Disney 360 vacation concept, was originally announced last summer during the D23 Expo in Anaheim, Calif. The news about the resort's location was shared this weekend during D23 Expo Japan.
According to Disney leaders, the first-of-its-kind resort will be "seamlessly connected" to the new Star Wars land that's under construction here in Orlando. That land is expected to open in 2019. Disney hasn't said when the resort will open.
That said, we do have the dirt on what to expect if you get the chance to stay there.
"At the resort, guests immediately become active citizens of the galaxy and can dress up in the proper attire," according to the Disney Parks Blog. "Every resort window will also have a view into space."
The whole experience starts "when everyone departs together for a multiday Stars Wars adventure by boarding a starship alive with characters and stories," according to Disney.
