The all-new "Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire" virtual reality experience will open at Disney Springs on Dec. 16, according to the Disney Parks Blog.
Walt Disney World Resort leaders originally announced the new addition this summer, but didn't specify an opening date.
According to Disney leaders, guests will be transported to "a galaxy far, far away where you’ll be able to engage with friends, family and Star Wars characters through sight, sound, touch, smell, and motion."
The new tech, developed by an entertainment company called THE VOID, will melt the physical and digital worlds, according to Disney. LucasFilm and ILMxLab are also part of the project's development.
According to the purchasing website (www.thevoid.com) the experience lasts about 30 minutes with show starting as early as 9 a.m.and the last show running at 11:45 p.m. Tickets cost $29.95 per person, according to the site.
The experience will open at Disneyland Resort's Downtown Disney on Jan. 5, 2018, according to the Disney Parks Blog.
