Universal Orlando Resort leaders recently released new details about the all-new Fast & Furious -- Supercharged ride that's currently under construction.
The ride, located in Universal Studios, is being built where the Beetlejuice's Rock and Roll Graveyard Revue used to be. That attraction closed in January 2016 to make way for the new ride.
The new Fast & Furious, which is set to open next spring, will include a bevy of the film franchise's favorite characters like Dom (Vin Diesel), Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) and Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson). Other characters are set to make an appearance too, according to Universal leaders.
Before getting onto the ride, guests will be immersed in the all-new Fast & Furious storyline, according to Universal. Riders will see Dom's Dodge Charger parked outside and the ride has "become the all-new home base of operations" for the crew.
After seeing spaces and scenes inspired by the films, Dom invites riders to a race after-party. That's when guests will board ride vehicles, customized party busses designed by Fast & Furious' Tej (played by Ludacris).
Universal says things get a little bumpy when the trip to the after-party turns into a high-speed chase.
No official opening date for the new ride has been announced, but Universal said it's the next one to offer the Virtual Line system. This system allows riders to select a ride time at the kiosks near the ride entrance. This virtual queue is also offered at the new Jimmy Fallon ride, also located in Universal Studios.
