Universal Orlando Resort is looking for volunteers to help pack 375,000 meals in partnership with Feeding Children Everywhere.
For many in Central Florida, the name Feeding Children Everywhere should ring a bell. It's the organization that led efforts to pack 4.4 million meals for Puerto Rico last month at the Orange County Convention Center.
Meals packed at Universal Orlando will be distributed not only to local residents in the Central Florida community, but 100,000 will be sent to Puerto Rico while another 100,000 are sent to those in need in the Houston area.
The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25 at Universal Orlando's five on-site hotels. Each hotel has the goal of packing 75,000 meals that morning, according to Universal leaders.
The Loews Portofino Bay Hotel location is full, but reservations can still be made at the Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Loews Sapphire Falls Resort and Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort.
The Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando have been hosting this event for five years and it's only grown bigger and bigger each time. The first year was held at Hard Rock Hotel and the goal was to pack 25,000 with more than 50,000 actually be completed.
